Dan Youmans is the Artistic Director of Dan & Company Studios, Dan is considered across the nation to be a master of Musical Comedy. A native Atlantan and graduate of the University of Georgia, Mr. Youmans began his career as a young dancer with Six Flags, and Theatre of the Stars. After touring the country with numerous musicals, including “Fiddler on the Roof”, “Hello Dolly”, “Music Man”, “Cabaret”, and “Man of La Mancha”, Dan returned to Atlanta to establish Dan & Company Studios and the Atlanta Jazz Theatre Dance Company. In addition to directing the Studio and the Dance Company, Mr. Youmans also stages and choreographs numerous musical events, including television and arena, throughout the Southeast. He was lead Choreographer for the Closing Ceremonies for the Paralympics in 1992 in Barcelona, Spain, and for the Atlanta Paralympics in 1996. Dan is currently creating choreography for the First Baptist Church of Atlanta, Mt. Paran North, and is serving as Director of Sacred Dance for the new Performing Arts Academy of the Salvation Army in Suwannee, Ga.
Tina Youmans Hidalgo began her training in Atlanta with the Atlanta Jazz Theatre and Dan and Company Studios. While in Atlanta, she danced in numerous industrial shows, fashion shows, and the Miss Georgia Pageant. She began teaching and choreographing around the sotheast by the age of 17, and teaching for Dance Masters of America at 18.
Tina performed at Walt Disney World for three years where she was a featured Explosion Dancer at “Pleasure Island” under the direction of Maria Terranova. Tina has also been the choreographer and assistant choreographer for many National industrial shows and performances, including Karastan, Headress Ball, and other Disney Conventions. Since returning to Atlanta, she continues teaching at Dan and Company and focuses on choreography, most recently for Walt Disney World Audition tour and the Disney/Spelman Theatre project for the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. As company manager, for the Atlanta Jazz theatre her primary focus is the Atlanta Jazz Theatre company, it’s dancers, choreographers, and future.
Noah Miller is an Alum of the Atlanta Jazz Theatre company. He actually started his relationship with the stage at AJT and Dan and Company. Noah continued his training at North Springs High School, completing dual magnet programs in both Dance and Drama. He then moved to NYC where he earned a BFA in Drama from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where he starred in, as well as produced his own work over 5 years in NYC. Noah then moved to Los Angeles to work on a film and music career and trained for 4 years with The Groundlings, Risa Bramon, and world renown choreographer Ryan Heffington. Noah made his television debut with NBC’s GAME OF SILENCE, which coincidentally shot in his hometown of Atlanta Georgia inspiring a relocation, thus making it possible for him to return to his roots to teach for Dan & Company.
Katrina Loncaric grew up and trained with both Dan & Company and Atlanta Jazz Theatre, and has since been blessed with sharing her dancing and singing talents all around the world. Most notably, Katrina was in the Broadway production of the Mel Brooks musical The Producers, where she not only danced in the Ensemble, but also performed as the Understudy to the female lead, Ulla.
In addition to Broadway, she performed in the Las Vegas production of The Producers sharing the stage with Tony Danza and David Hasselhoff, and most recently with Atlanta’s Theatre of the Stars production at The Fabulous Fox. Katrina was a Feature Singer and Showgirl in the long running Las Vegas spectacular, Don Arden’s Jublilee! She has been seen around the world traveling as a Cabaret Vocalist with Azamara Club Cruises where in addition to performing in the ship’s production shows, she regularly took the stage in her own “One-Woman Cabaret”. Katrina holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, and has studied and performed Improv and Sketch Comedy with The Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre, Second City, and The Groundlings in New York City, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. She also has a long running voiceover career. Some favorite musical regional credits include: A Chorus Line (Judy); Crazy For You (Irene); Damn Yankees (Lola); and Hair (Jeannie). When Katrina is not teaching the future stars of tomorrow, she is spending time with her own little star, James.
Liz Borom got her start age the age of 6 in South Carolina studying classical ballet with the Columbia City Ballet. She was a soloist for the Spartanburg Civic Ballet before receiving an honors scholarship into the SC Governors School for the Arts where she trained under the direction of Edward Villella, Mel Tomlinson, and Sandra Neil. She continued her training in all genres of dance from classic tap to Martha Graham technique and studied in several notable studios and programs from SC to NY under the direction dance “greats” such as Twyla Tharp, Shelly Washington, Paul Taylor, Mia Michaels, Ray Leeper, Rhonda Blanchard, and Joe Tremaine just to name a few. She went on to study dance performance and choreography in college. Since college, Liz has been teaching, choreographing, and dancing all over the US for the past 20+ years. Professionally, she has danced in commercials, film, television, and performed in several full-length stage productions with the Unbound dance company directed by Caroline Lewis Jones as well as other professional companies throughout the US. Currently Liz is on faculty for several conventions and competitions. Liz’s choreography has won multiple awards regionally and nationally. Her classes are full of strong technique and passionate choreography.
Amber Runyan received her professional training on scholarship from Pacific Northwest Ballet School where she had the opportunity to perform in the world premiere of Bruce Wells “Pinocchio” as well as “The Nutcracker”. She then attended the Graduate Program at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre before accepting a Traineeship with North Carolina Dance Theatre. During her time there she had the privilege to work closely with Patricia McBride and performed in productions of “Sleeping Beauty”, “The Nutcracker”, and “Serenade”, in addition to other new works.
Amber returned to her home state to dance professionally with The Georgia Ballet where she has been able to enhance her artistry by working with various choreographers in classical and contemporary styles. She is happy to return to the Atlanta area to share her love of dance with the next generation. Amber is currently Ballet Mistress of Dan and Company Studios
Jennifer Chalk is originally from Marietta GA. Jennifer attended the University of Alabama on a dance performance scholarship where she received the Excellence in Choreography Award. Jennifer holds herBachelors of Dance and Kinesiology.
Her professional credits include Carnival Cruise Lines, Steps on Broadway in New York and Walt Disney World. Jennifer has had the opportunity to work with many astute choreographers and has showcased her work for a number of years in the competition realm of dance. Her work as won panoply recognition as well as high honors at dance convocations. Jennifer is excited to be a part of the Dan & Company faculty!
AJ Paug is from Acworth, GA where he started his training in dance and theatre at Woodland High School for the performing arts. AJ received his classical dance and choreography training at Kennesaw State University under the direction of Ivan Pulinkala. AJ has been choreographing and teaching for 11 years and is in high demand for his creativity and unique use of fusing both genres of contemporary and hip-hop dance. AJ has taught and choreographed award winning competition and concert dances at studios such as Dan and Co., Gotta Dance Contemporary, Great Gig Dance Co., North Georgia Dance Arts, and The Royal Dance Academy. From 2011-2016 AJ has choreographed citywide events and festivals including Flashmobs, Blacklight Shows and Arial Silks for the city of Suwanee. For the past four years AJ has ran and lead his own after school dance program in Fulton County for the Royal Dance Academy, under the direction of Sarah Haslock-Johnson. AJ is the lead choreographer of the KINGSMEN, the official hip-hop crew for the RDA. AJ is now the Hip-Hop director at the Royal Dance Academy. AJ is part of award winning Kollective dance crew. AJ is one of the Artistic Directors of Gotta Dance Contemporary and has helped produced their last two shows JUXTAPOSE, SURFACE, and I This House. AJ is also skilled in music and video editing and is a part of Bush Jumping, Polly Visuals, Why Not Production team that has provided countless promotional/concept videos for Atlanta based artist. Chelsea Rousseau Henson grew up in Marietta, GA and is a Dan & Co. Alumni! She also attended Atlanta Ballet and Graduated early from Pebblebrook High School for the Performing Arts as a dance major and vocal and drama minor. She went on to college at University of the Arts in Philadelphia and quickly signed with the Bloc Agency in New York City. After a short time in NYC, she was hired as an Actors Equity Performer at Walt Disney World where she performed in Beauty and the Beast, Tarzan Rocks, Christmas Parades and other televised events. During her time in Florida, Chelsea was also hired for many ‘gigs’ around the nation. She later became the Female Dance Captain for the inaugural cast of the Disney Fantasy where she worked with various professionals including Neil Patrick Harris and Spencer Liff of SYTYCD! After traveling the East/West Caribbean, she took her travels to Europe where she performed with Norwegian Cruise Lines as a dancer and aerialist. She has also been trained in and has taught Ballroom dance. Chelsea couldn’t be more excited to be back at Dan and Co. with a dance “family” that’s always stayed close to her heart!
Claire Korfas has been dancing with Dan & Company and performing as a company member of the Atlanta Jazz Theatre for six years. Aside from her level of concert work performed with the Atlanta Jazz Theatre, she has also been a top award winning competitive dancer with AJT at some of the most prestigious dance competitions. Prior to that, she began her training at a young age with the Georgia Ballet. She also spent 9 years in artistic gymnastics, with 5 years at a competitive level. Claire began teaching for Dan & Co. in 2015 and has extensive training in all forms of dance. She will be on faculty with us this year before she heads off to college in 2017 where she plans to pursue a double major in dance and psychology (counseling and therapy). Claire is wonderful working with young children, and imparting her love of dance to all of them. We are thrilled to have Claire join our faculty this year!
